Can I just start off by saying EWWWW.
I LOVE my beef jerky… Teryaki, good…. Pepper, good. What is not to like about the chewy flavorful deliciousness that is beef (buffalo, turkey, etc.) jerky. Well if you are going Paleo, you know there is one MAJOR dilema with typical jerky. SALT. And unfortunately, stores even like Trader Joe’s don’t carry and salt-free options. And before you ask, no, I have not tried places like Whole Foods or Mother’s Market yet.
Anyway, I decided I would get inspired by the Paleo Kits that are floating around the CrossFit gyms these days, and try making my own.
Let me tell you, it looks like jerky, it smells like jerky, but it tastes like bland dog food.
I REALLY need to work on this one. I’m trying to search around for a delicious, Paleo friendly recipe. If you have one that works, please let me know.
I’m not sure if I can overcome the smell that drying meat produces, but it’s worth another try.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
